Our policy against child labour

Child labour in the third world can be a problem in the rug industry.  We do take our responsibilities seriously and currently, we only import Indian rugs when we are sure of the supply sources.

With the exception of rugs from Greece, we do not deal direct with rug manufacturers.  All our Indian rugs are purchased via a third party agent, based in New Delhi, India.  Their responsibility is to ensure that only reputable manufacturers are used. They visit all manufacturers' premises on a regular basis, announced and un-announced, not only to monitor the proper use of labour but also to ensure that our highest quality standards are kept.  This third party organisation also acts as an intermediary to several other major high street retailers in the UK, some of which are known for having very high ethical standards.

We are as confident as we can be about the sources of our rugs. We do not purchase any rugs of dubious origin such as from warehouse clearance shops and we always, without exception, purchase via our approved third party agent from approved manufacturers.


Credit Card Security

Shopping over the Internet using modern secure data encryption is very safe, much safer than giving your credit card to a waiter in a restaurant. But if for any reason you are unhappy to purchase online or you don't own a credit card, please order as normal selecting "Send credit card details separately" at the final checkout stage and then fax/phone the credit card details or "Invoice and payment before delivery" and send the cheque to us by post. Alternately you can bypass the web site completely and order by letter, fax or phone but please note any cheques must clear into our account before we are able to dispatch your goods.  Cheques must be made out to "Rugs and Stuff".


Our Guarantee, Returns and Complaints Procedure

We guarantee your complete satisfaction.  If you are not satisfied with any of the goods you bought, for whatever reason, return them to us, undamaged, within 7 days of receipt and we will refund the purchase price (normally within 7 days). Before returning the goods, please drop us a line by e-mail and include a short description of the reason for your dissatisfaction.  Please note that cut-to-order underlay cannot be returned.

This guarantee does not cover accidental damage.

It goes without saying that we will immediately replace, at our cost, any goods which arrive to you in a faulty condition. Complaints will be dealt with fairly and confidentially. We promise to acknowledge any complaints within 5 days of receipt. We will advise you a likely timescale for resolving the dispute. We promise to keep you informed about the progress of the dispute. We will continuously monitor complaints so that our service can be improved.

The above guarantee in no way affects and is in addition to your statutory rights.


Our Privacy Policy

We will not disclose your details to anyone else. Guaranteed!  We will only use the information you supply to us lawfully. The only personal details we require from you are your name, address, phone number & e-mail address so that we can process your order. We may telephone you or contact you by e-mail prior to dispatching your order in case any clarification is needed. We will periodically advise you of special offers or new items via e-mail unless you check the opt-out box at the checkout stage. Small Print

Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the dispatch of the products ordered by you unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions in our Returns section.

Non-acceptance of an order may be a result of one or more of the following:

  • The product you ordered being unavailable from stock
  • Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment
  • The identification of a pricing or product description error

You should note that we only charge your card after the goods are despatched.
