Sink your toes into our natural flokatis (creamy white in colour), ideal for living rooms and bedrooms. They are highly resistant to dirt and luxuriously thick and heavy and are available in 6 sizes. The pile of our rugs is made with soft New Zealand wool.
These shaggy rugs are thick & heavy 2000gsm quality. So choose us if you want a flokati rug of excellent quality. If you are comparing prices with other retail and web stores, please note that they can be as light as 1200gsm and many use inferior quality wool of Greek origin.
We stock 6 sizes, from small to very large.
Small - 70 x 120cm
Medium - 90 x 160cm
Large - 140 x 200cm
Extra Large - 170 x 240cm
Extra Extra Large - 200 x 300cm
Extra Extra Extra Large - 240 x 340cm
The sizes listed below are measured on the backing of the rug. Add approx 10 cm for the fully covered area. Please measure your floor area carefully before ordering.
Please note that the 240x340cm rug is made from 2 pieces sewn together.
As with all hand-crafted carpets, the edges of the flokatis are never exactly straight.
To avoid disappointment, please note that these rugs are lovely and as soft as sheep but not as soft as sheepskin rugs which are treated with strong chemicals to soften the wool.
Due to the long fibres on this product, not recommended for babies. Please note that as these items are authentic handicrafts, some shedding of wool is inevitable and can be minimised by regular vacuuming using your machine's nozzle attachment. Be aware before purchase.
Cleaning and washing your flokati rug
Flokati rugs are highly resistant to dirt and stains. Cleaning flokatis is very simple although larger rugs can be a challenge.
Dirt and dust do not cling to flokati wool fibres. If your flokati is not very dirty, shake and brush it. You can also use the nozzle end of your vacuum cleaner but do not use the rotating brush.
If more dirty, after shaking, hand-wash using the mildest of wool detergent in very small quantities, in cold or lukewarm water.
Please note that due to their construction, flokati rugs slip easily on wooden/laminate floors and they creep on carpet so we strongly recommend that you purchase our anti-slip underlay.
